TEXT: MATTHEW 8:18-22
TOPIC: THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP
It was after the healing of the Centurion’s servant the evening came and the people were still following Him, bringing more people for healing (vs. 16).
Two major people came to Him. The first was a teacher of the Law who came and said, “I will follow you.” What was Jesus respond? The demands of discipleship are outlined in vs. 19-20 doe a would-be disciple of Christ.
Also, Another of His disciple came to him (vs. 21) still on the same issue but he was not immediately ready (vs. 21).
Following Jesus is not a bed of roses, it is not about comfort. Following Jesus means that Christ must become our first priority.
Anyone who will follow Christ must be prepared to leave family, house and material things behind and follow Him with all of their heart..
QUESTION
What is hindering you from following Christ?
PRAYER
Oh Lord, please help me to be courageous to get rid of everything that will hinder me from following You with all my heart, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
