TOPIC: TIME OF TESTING
 
Every good manufacturing plant or company always tests the quality of its products to ensure their quality.
God, the Father, sent Jesus with a mission to the world. He led Jesus into the wilderness to be tested by the devil (vs. 1; Deut. 8:2), the accuser of the brethren.
God needed to prove to the devil that man can actually walk in obedience to His word and overcome his temptations.
Note that Jesus was tempted in places where nobody could help Him. Of course, the devil looked for the most vulnerable area to tempt Jesus.
He was tempted with food (vs. 2); possessions and power (vs. 5-7), and the pride of life (vs. 8-10), just as some have been tested and succumbed.
Jesus did not give in, thus confirming the word of God in Hebrews 4:15. Jesus held onto God’s word at all times (vs. 4, 7; 10).
 
QUESTION
What temptations are you facing at the moment?
 
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, give me the strength to withstand all the temptations that come my way, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
