TEXT: MATTHEW 12:15-21
TOPIC: JESUS IS LORD OF THE SABBATH (II)
But the Pharisees, in their usual stubbornness, still asked: “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath” (vs. 10b). Christ was aware of their evil plot and withdrew.
It has been made known that Jesus is the Chosen Servant, the beloved of God and that God has given Him a name that is above any other name and that at the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow.
This is a demonstration of the fulfilment of the Scripture here; neither law nor rule of man could hinder Christ from fulfilling His divine mandate.
From what Christ has done in this text, He is indeed the Chosen Servant and the Lord of the Sabbath.
QUESTION
What are the purposes of Christ’s miracles?
PRAYER
Help me, Oh Lord, to be merciful to those in need and not to be like the Pharisees, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
