TEXT: MATTHEW 10:21-25
TOPIC: GET READY FOR PERSECUTION
In today’s text, Christ teaches about the possibility of believers being tortured by evil men.
It is no longer news that believers in Northern Nigeria especially face brutal persecution that even lead to losing their lives.
Jesus states that the persecutors may not necessarily be from outside alone but close relatives, even believers. But we should be strengthened by the hope of His coming (vs. 23).
Because Jesus Himself was persecuted, we need to know that the perilous times will surely come. But the ever-present Christ has promised us that He will neither leave us nor abandon us in times of trouble.
QUESTION
Even in the midst of persecution in these perilous times, are you prepared to remain with Christ until He comes back?
PRAYER
Help us, Oh Lord, to withstand opposition and persecution from evil men, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
