TEXT: MATTHEW 3:1-12
TOPIC: REPENT OF YOUR SINS
John realised the importance and the need for the people of his time to repent because the kingdom of God is near (vs. 2) where no sinner would be allowed to enter.
He knew that the self-righteousness of the people could not grant them access to God’s kingdom. Instead, it is only by turning away from sin and rebellion again.
God, confessing their sins and following God’s ways (vs. 6), that they can attract God’s help. When you confess your sins, God is ever ready to receive you.
QUESTION
Are you ready to make a U-turn, confess your sin and follow God’s ways?
PRAYER
Thank You, Lord for helping me to know You and confessing my sins. Thank you for continuing to strengthen me to abide by your instructions in Jesus’ name. Amen.
