ECWA Food for the Day – 3rd July, 2025

THURSDAY, 3 JULY
TOPIC: A MODEL FOR PRAYER IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLE

When you are in trouble or facing life-threatening situations, you are forced to pray your most authentic prayer.
That was the situation in which David found himself when he was being pursued by King Saul the Benjamite and his allies. Here, David provided an excellent model for prayer in the midst of disaster.
When you are unjustifiably victimised by the powerful, focus on God Whose shield is more powerful than the human shield; Whose sword is more lethal than your enemy’s sword; and Whose arrow is more deadly and piercing than that of your enemies.
And always remember, as you pray for those who are inflicting harm on you, to add that “whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made” (Psalm 7:14-15).
Always remember the story of Esther, Mordecai and Haman, Joseph and his siblings in Genesis 50:20.

QUESTION
Are you a victim of someone who thinks your destiny is in his hands?

PRAYER
Dear Lord, it is comforting to know that whoever digs a hole will fall into the pit.
