TEXT: MATTHEW 7:1-6
TOPIC: JUDGE YOURSELF FIRST
Today’s passage draws our attention to the fact that we should not pass judgment on people without first assessing and judging ourselves by removing the plank in our eyes (vs. 2-3).
This is because it is too easy to find faults in others but neglect our own.
The Pharisees condemned Jesus and His disciples but failed to remove the plank in their own eyes.
The Pharisees lived lives full of pretence and double standards instead of living according to God’s word.
QUESTION
Do you judge others by assessing yourself?
PRAYER
Father in heaven, help me to always examine myself thoroughly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
