We live in times very much like those of little Samuel. God’s Word was rare and visions were few. Due to this scarcity, even Eli, the priest, found it hard to recognize God’s move in the life of Samuel.
Today, people are rushing to answer their personal calls, claiming they are hearing from God. It is true that what goes on between a person and his God is personal.
While this is true and we should not be judging others, the candor, decorum and hermeneutical fidelity expected of people in the Divine Order is often grossly lacking in these charlatans. Hence, there is an urgent need to hear from God again, like did Eli.
To those who truly seek God, His Word is not scarce, but for those who seek personal aggrandizement hidden in godly wraps, judgment is coming.
QUESTION
Are you standing with the gospel of God’s grace or the gospel of flamboyance?
PRAYER
Forgive my ignorance, O Lord. Help me to seek You for who You are. Amen.
