TEXT: JOHN 13:34-35
TOPIC: SEEKING GOD BY LOVING OTHERS
Many try to demonstrate their love and commitment to Jesus Christ by getting involved in spiritual activities/ministry. Some even take pride in things they do and share testimonies of their exploits. When you look closely at them however, you see that they harbor so much resentment and bitterness toward other believers.
Going by what our Lord Jesus Christ is saying today in our text, we know that He does not approve of this attitude. The test of our love and loyalty to Jesus Christ comes in the area of emulating Him in loving people; even the unlovable. After all, when Jesus Christ died for us, we were undeserving.
As long as you hate someone, you are not worthy of being called a disciple of Christ. Then in whose power and on whose mandate are you performing those supposed miracles? Watch it!
QUESTION
Who do you hate or have unresolved issues with?
PRAYER
Humble me, O Lord, until I see the need to love others, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
