Evangelism team of ECWA Central Area is as old as the church. It started with few brethren who came together to fellowship and map out a strategy of witnessing to other people. The pioneer leader was Bro. Jibrin Musa and Alao Yemisi was the Elder in charge. As at today, the group has grown numerically, structurally and spiritually.

ACTIVITIES

One of the cardinal objectives of the group is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost world. In doing this, the team ensures that a regular meeting of its members is done at least once within the week.

During the meeting, we pray and encourage ourselves from the word of God and plan outreaches to various communities and towns. The result is the establishment of prayer houses in Zamani (along Airport Road), Nasarawi, Apo Area and Federal Housing Authority Lugbe.

Other stations reached out to with the gospel are; Ruga (Abuja City Gate), Mabushi Community.

To further the work of the church together with the team also organizes Sunday witnessing days within the year whereby the entire congregation goes out for witnessing. All these programmes have won many souls to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Zamani Prayer House: This prayer house has a resident Pastor, with a congregation of about 60 people excluding children.

1. Nasarawi Prayer House: The prayer house has a resident Pastor, a pastorium, a worship house and a congregation of 45 people. The house for the worship was built by ECA.

2. Apo Prayer House: A Pastor is there overseeing the affairs of the church with a membership of 40 – 50 adults. This church however has passed through many challenges. The present place of worship was built by ECA, which is the third due to several relocations. It must be prompted one that the prayer physically and spiritually has been very slow.

3. Federal Housing Lugbe Prayer House: This church has a complete Board of Elders in place with a resident Pastor. The membership is about 80. Though they are on a temporary place, they will soon start the development of their permanent site bought by ECA in partnership with ECWA Wuse 2 and the prayer house.

 MAGARIA (NIGER REPUBLIC) THRUST

Magaria is located in Niger Republic a neighbouring country with Nigeria. It is a predominantly Muslim country. The determination of the Evangelism team of ECA church to fulfil Acts 1:8; saw the team crossing over to this area for bringing the lost souls to His Kingdom. As at July 2009, the estimated population of Magaria was about six hundred and ten (610) people. Out of this number only a handful, about fifty-one (51) were registered Christian from the time of the team’s entry (July 2009) to date the number has risen to one hundred and fifty-two. This credit goes to the Almighty God.

We have visited the area four (4) times now. The first was a discovery trip. The second and third were accompanied with medical evangelism for the treatment of ailment of the inhabitants of the place. The last one in September 2010, was for the purpose of follow up. From all indications, we have a lot of work to carry in Magaria because the harvest is ripe. Therefore, they must be gathered into the barn of the Master Jesus. Financial assistance running into thousands of naira and motorcycle have been sent to this field.

Recently also the team acquired a piece of land and has fully paid for it in order to use it for the Evangelism work over there. We are trusting God for more hands and funds for the prosecution of the work in that place.

When the work is fully mature, EMS of ECWA have to be invited to partner in the work.
