TEXT: LUKE 7:1-10
TOPIC: LET GOD BE THE STANDARD
The Centurion would not have gone out of his way to plead with Jesus to heal the servant if he had not been faithful to him. It works both ways!
Also, the Jews, considering what the centurion had done for them, felt that he deserved the Lord’s attention.
But the centurion, considering who the Lord Jesus is, felt himself unworthy.
We should never evaluate ourselves based on our accomplishments, especially comparing ourselves with other people.
We should always consider if we measure up to God’s standard – whether as Servants or Masters.
The Lord Jesus still heals today. If a Roman Centurion who did not really know the Lord Jesus as we do could have such great faith in Him, how much more should we, who have the entire Bible and testimonies of His workings in our lives and the church for thousands of years!
QUESTION
Who is your standard in life?
PRAYER
Almighty God, let the Lord Jesus be my standard in life and as I pray, bless me with faith to believe You for the physical healing of my loved ones today, in Jesus name. Amen.
