TEXT: MATTHEW 11:1-15
TOPIC: THE DILEMMA OF GOD’S MINISTER
John the Baptist had confidently introduced Jesus as the expected Messiah. But now that he was in prison, he began to have crisis of confidence in Christ. So, he asked: “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
Jesus answered John’s question by referring him to Isaiah 35:4-6. Prophet Isaiah is referring to God’s Word in times when problems appear to have no solutions. This is the key message in this passage.
Brethren, we need to know and understand that God has never forgotten us and will not do so today. Although He may sometimes appear to be far away, He always comes to our aid at His own appointed time, which is in our best interest.
QUESTION
When all solutions appear to be ineffective, how do I respond as a believer?
PRAYER
Oh Lord, help me to always have confidence in Your Word despite life’s unfavourable conditions, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
