TEXT: COLOSSIANS 2:16-23
TOPIC: SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST IN ALL MATTERS
Paul, a passionate apostle to the Gentiles, cautions against teachings that impose additional rules and rituals that can enslave believers and undermine the freedom found in Christ.
Paul warns against letting anyone judge you based on dietary laws or religious festivals, which were often associated with idolatry.
He emphasises that Christ is sufficient and should be the focus of our faith.
He advises against false humility and the worship of angels and asserts that religious regulations add nothing to Christ’s sacrifice.
Believers have died to
the basic principles of the world and should not be subjected to its
rules.
QUESTION
Are you still subject to the world’s dos and don’ts in your Christian walk?
PRAYER
Lord, make me steadfast in my walk with You, seeking to know more of You and the opportunities I have in You, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
