In this text, Jesus marvelled at the Pharisees’ clamour for signs. Sadly, they had missed the greatest sign of all – His death and resurrection.
Jesus used the metaphor of an empty house to make His point.
Man’s heart is like an empty house in which both evil and good can dwell. So, for it not to invite strange guests, the vacuum must be filled.
The only way to keep the old tenant out is to put a new tenant. Therefore, Jesus made the Pharisees understand that the demands for signs is an evidence of unbelief.
QUESTION
Has the demand for signs blindfolded you into missing the greatest sign of all?
PRAYER
Oh Lord, please open our eyes and minds so that we do not miss what You are trying to show us. Amen.
