TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 5:17-21
TOPIC: MINISTERING TO THE MINISTER
Ministering to pastors, who are referred to as elders in this context, is important as well as challenging. The God who called them expect them to give their best as they minister in the church.
Paul informed Timothy that such men are worthy of double honour because they do not only direct the affairs of the church, they also minister through preaching the word.
These people are, whoever, misunderstood and misrepresented by many. Some are even deliberately frustrated in their ministries.
We must know that since they are called by God, they should be taken care of by the church as well as carefully investigate matters brought against them to avoid reaching wrong conclusions.
But he also instructed that those who sin should be rebuked publicly and without favouritism so that others should not make the same mistakes.
QUESTION
What do you think about the ministry to pastors today?
PRAYER
Grant me the grace to uphold my pastor(s) in prayers and give them all the necessary support to make their ministry succeed. Amen.
