TEXT: MATTHEW 27:45-56
TOPIC: JESUS’ AGONIZING CRY
Different things can make one cry. When Jesus hung on the cross, he cried out for the sins of humanity. He sought to redeem man from the clutches of death and paid the price once and for all.
However, the devil thought he had succeeded in killing the author of life when Jesus declared, “It is finished”. But He was releasing humanity from sin and death, bondage, sicknesses, diseases and all other ills and granted those who believe in Him access to the Father Almighty (vs. 51).
Had Satan known that the death of Jesus on the cross would give man victory over death and sin, he would not have rejoiced at the crucifixion of the Lord of Glory (1 Cor. 2:8). Therefore, Jesus’ agony brought victory to mankind.
QUESTION
Do you appreciate the victory you have in the death of Jesus Christ?
PRAYER
Thank You Jesus for the victory You gave me by going to the cross on my behalf so thatI will be savedfrom sin and death, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
