Today’s passage challenges us to always weigh what we do for Yahweh.
The Israelites are back to rebuild the temple as a family. Thus, they chose to work on raising an altar where they can directly connect with Yahweh before the walls of the temple. Burnt offerings were offered as well as other regular offerings.
Notice that the essence of the temple was to have those structures in place. In raising a place of worship, priority should be given to what matters most.

What matters most in building God’s house?
PRAYER
Lord, help the Church to fathom what matters most to You as she embarks on raising cathedrals, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
