TEXT: NEHEMIAH 9:22-38
TOPIC: COVENANT WITH GOD
A covenant is an agreement or contract between two or more persons to do certain things according to set down rules.
A long time ago, God had a covenant with Israel through their forefathers Gen. 9:9-11, Lev. 26:9, Deut. 4:23).
Because of the covenant, God who does not fail, kept His promise to Israel by giving them their inheritance (vs. 22); made them numerous (vs. 23); gave them cities (vs. 25); and made them invincible before nations.
Yet the Israelites turned their back on God and broke the covenant by disobeying and rebelling against Him by killing their prophets and committing awful acts (vs. 26-27).
Despite their rebellion and disobedient, God still showed them mercy and compassion (vs. 32-38).
QUESTION
Are you still holding on to God’s covenant and determined to abide by His divine word?
PRAYER
O Lord God Almighty, the maker of heaven and earth, the all-knowing and merciful God, help me to abide by the promise to walk with You blamelessly, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
