TOPIC: BEWARE OF STRANGE WOMEN
Marriage is a blessed union. However, some are going through hard times in their marriages not because things are hard but because they married ‘strange women’.
Strange women in this context refers to marrying a pagan woman or being yoked with an unbeliever, someone who does not know or has not received Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.
A ‘strange woman or person’ can be someone who is not your legitimate wife or husband. Some men have fallen victim of these strange women and their marriages have crashed or are at the point of crashing.
Israel broke God’s covenant, contrary to their previous promise not to allow their daughters/children to marry pagans who provoked Nehemiah on his return (vs. 25). He did not fail to confront the people; unlike what we do today by keeping quiet in the face of evil.
QUESTION
Are you married to a strange woman?
PRAYER
Dear Lord, help me to beware of the dangers of marrying foreign women. Help me to resist their enticement and guide my children not to marry foreign women, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
