TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:8-11
TOPIC: LIVING AS LIGHT
Light is attractive. There was a total shutdown of the national grid for about two days. Those two days looked like two weeks!
The Apostle Paul in today’s text makes some profound statements concerning how the believer relates to light.
Notice that he does not say that believers were once living in darkness – he says, believers were once darkness. He then continues to say that now believers are light in the Lord.
Again, he does not say that believers are now living in the light, but that they are light. This assertion is corroborated by Matthew 5:14. Whose light do believers radiate? Of course, it is the light of the Lord!
Believers in the Lord are expected to radiate the light of the Lord. The only challenge though is that not many who claim to be believers are light onto the world. Some are darkness while claiming to be light. Light does not make claims, it just shines!
QUESTION
Is your light shining?
PRAYER
Help me to reflect You well, O God. Help me to display my true nature by being the light to the world, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
